The LokalGeschichte workshop from Georgsmarienhütte is just such a project – a real piece of the town’s history that is maintained with a great deal of commitment and volunteer work. For OIT GmbH, support is therefore not just a mission, but a matter of honor.
There is also a special connection:
Johannes Börger, father-in-law of Managing Director Andreas Olbrichtis chairman of the Werkstatt LokalGeschichte. And Rainer Kortea long-time friend of the Börger family, is also closely involved in the project. It is precisely this closeness that makes the collaboration so special.
Why OIT helps – and why it is more important than ever today

The Werkstatt LokalGeschichte website has moved to our fast WordPress hosting. This ensures shorter loading times, a better user experience and smoother work in the backend.
Data protection with Borlabs Cookie
We have integrated and updated Borlabs Cookie so that the site works technically cleanly according to GDPR standards and visitors are informed transparently about cookies and services.
New backup concept
A fresh, reliable backup concept ensures that historical documents are protected in the long term and can be restored at any time if required.

Technical updates and initial modernization of the design create stability, make it easier to maintain and form the basis for future expansions.
An honorary project for Georgsmarienhütte
The Werkstatt LokalGeschichte digitizes historical documents from the history of Georgsmarienhütte – from photos and local newspapers to political texts and minutes. All content is published without commentary and is for private information purposes only.
To ensure that this valuable local cultural asset remains accessible online, OIT provides the technical foundation – reliably, securely and with a genuine connection to the city.
